How does powder coating work?

In our own powder coating factory in China we produce about 600.000 pots per month, but how does this process actually work? After the ceramic pots are produced in the right shape, the final step is powder coating. With compressed air, negatively charged powder is sprayed onto a grounded pot. This causes the powder to stick, but it can also go off. That's why the pot with the powder then goes into the oven so that the powder on the pot melts and is final. So the "paint" is not liquid, but powdered and available in more than 100 colors!
